If you are seeking conference call providers, do not make the mistake of choosing the first one that you come across. There are several things that you should consider before making a choice to get the best from your conference calls at the best price. Bear in mind that not all providers are alike.
The very first thing you need to do before looking for conference call service providers is to determine your needs. Ask yourself the following questions:
Do I need just basic service where everyone listens to each other over the phone, or do I need video conferencing capabilities as well?
Is web conferencing a something I might benefit more from?
Will I need the ability to transfer data during conference calls?
Another thing you need to assess is exactly how often you will need to use the conference calling service. Some providers charge a monthly fee in addition to their calling fees per minute.
Generally speaking, most conference call providers will offer lower per minute rates if you choose to pay a monthly fee, but should you only need one call each month then you will not want to pay a monthly fee for that one call.
Another good idea is to get your records over the past six months or so and get an average of not only how many conference calls were made, but also an average of how much you paid for each call. This will give you a basis for how to compare the different providers.
Maybe you are thinking of switching conference call providers. Consider why are you making this switch? Is it because of the cost? Maybe you have gotten poor quality during your teleconference calls. Do you need to include more people on your calls? These are all important things that you should examine when shopping for a new provider, but focus on the reason you are changing in the first place.
If quality has been an issue, you really can not judge the providers by their websites or by talking to them on the phone. They are all going to tell you that they provide the best quality service ever. So how can you know for sure?
Find the conference call companies that look interesting and call each. Ask for a free demonstration during your next conference call. If you explain to them that you are looking for a new provider because your call quality was not up to par with the last provider, they will be happy to accommodate. If a call provider will not do this, move on to the next one as they must not be very confident in their quality after all.

The IFA is the world show for consumer gadgets and there have been some mouth watering unveilings taking place in Berlin for IFA 2008. Although this year has been set to be dominated by the HDTV crowd as the technology has become mainstream, there are some other areas of interest such as audio and digital camera technology. This article provides objective coverage of the latest technological advances in the world of digital cameras.
Big news dominating the IFA is the buzz that Microsoft and Nikon have signed a patent cross-licensing agreement. This will help the development of current and future product lines by sharing technology to make products more compatible. The two giants have had a long standing relationship and this agreement will allow them innovate openly creating new features for customers. It is set to improve the Nikon range of digital cameras making them even more compatible with editing software.
Another leader in digital cameras is Samsung who have recently announced their new line of digital LCD photo frames. There are four different models just launched and will be available from September from 120-200 dollars, and if you are saying, that is one expensive photo frame then wait to hear some of the features.
They have a touch screen feature which allows you to browse photos, WiFi connectivity and Samsungs InfoLink fature which allows you to get over 400 channels of news, sports and financial info. They can also be used as a second monitor for your computer so they are not just to use with digital cameras.
If you need to print on the go then Canon has launched the ultimate companion to your latest digital camera. The Selphy printer Duo includes the ES3 and Es30 which are the latest models replacing the ES2 and ES20 respectively. They are the ultimate in portable printer practicalities with sport carrying handles and compact, sleek design. Other improved features are the LCD screens and the new image effects which have been added to the print options.
As a companion to your protable printer Cannon have announced the launch of the digital camera EOS 50D DSLR which will not generally be compatible because if you spend this much on a camera you might be wanting better print quality than either of the Selphy Duo have to offer.
It comes in at around 1500GBP however you get what you pay for with 6.3 frames per second shooting speed in bursts of up to 90 jpegs, ISO levels of 3200 that are expandable to an ultra sensitive 12,800 and an improved self cleaning sensor unit, however the price tag pushes it toward the professional.

Car GPS navigation systems are probably one of the hottest electronic gadgets to come to market in the past few years! It’’s no wonder why! These compact devices can do everything from tell you how to drive cross-country to let you know how to detour a traffic jam on the freeway.
Prices have dropped considerably in the past 18 months. Now, you can get a basic GPS system for around $150! If you want a more fully featured model, you can get that for $250 to $350, according to the model and the exact features.
That’’s not a bad price for never having to be lost again!
The problem with buying a car GPS navigation system is there are so many manufacturers, and so many models to choose from. Unless you”re a GPS aficionado like me, you”re might be put off by all of the new technologies these things bring together and all of the buzz words you need to know to even understand what you”re buying.
Not to worry!
This little article is going to straighten you out!
Although there are tons of manufacturers of these things, there are only three major players, Garmin, Tom Tom, and Magellan. Gamin sells 70% of the car GPS systems sold; Tom Tom has a really great product at great prices; and Magellan is one of the main pioneers of the whole industry.
All three companies make excellent products at very competitive prices. You can certainly buy a GPS system from anyone you choose. I just like to stay with the big companies. It’’s a personal decision. I want to make sure my device will be supported in the future.
To make things really much simpler, it’’s good to know that all GPS navigation systems do essentially the same things. As a matter of fact, they all do the following:
* Tell you where you are
* Tell you how to get to where you want to go with spoken directions
* Let you enter information and make choices via a touch screen interface
* Have a large database of destinations already programmed into the device (called Points of Interest, or POI’’s)
* Come pre-loaded with maps (older models you have to download the maps)
* auto-calculate the shortest or fastest route
You can get all of this for around $150. The Garmin nuvi 200, the Tom Tom One, or the Magellan Maestro 3100 can do all of this and more for about that price.
You would be pleasantly surprised, however, at how much more you can get for another $100 to $200!
That will buy you a car GPS navigation system that:
* Comes with maps of Canada, Europe, and/or Mexico
* Let’’s you use it in conjunction with your cell phone using Bluetooth technology
* Tells you traffic and weather in real time
* Plays music, and serves as an audio book reader
* And, let’’s you hear everything through your car’’s own stereo system
That’’s a lot of features for the money!
We”re not done, however! There’’s plenty more these nifty devices can do.
As you go up in price you get things like bigger screens and multiple routing capability. At higher price points each manufacturer starts to really distinguish themselves with proprietary features–like Tom Tom’’s POI database where users can actually make changes to reflect current road conditions. (Tom Tom makes those changes available for everyone to see!)
What you need to do next is to start browsing around an informative website where you can read about specific models and check their prices.

Every year all of the sectors of the electronics industry gear up for their trade show where they can flex their technological muscle. This year in Berlin it is expected that with HDTV hitting the mainstream, the latest models of HD ready TV sets will dominate the show. There has been some news on other fronts and this article delivers the latest audio news summarising the most recent developments from the IFA.
There have been several additions from Griffin technology the self proclaimed leader in iPod technology covering iPhones, iPods and anything related. Most of the models that have been unveiled are updates on previous models and they include the iTrip Universal, iTrip Auto and WindowSeat for iPhone 3G.
The iTrip universal allows any audio to be played through a 3.5mm connection including portable CD players, FM stereo and of course your iPod. Partnered with the iTrip Auto which has streamlined the process of charging and playing your iPod in car this is a great solution to those M25 traffic jams. For the full set the WindoSeat allows you to mount your iPhone or iPod on the dash board or windshield at eye level to make operations more user friendly and safer.
Although these developments might seem like a bit of an innovative anti-climax Sony has remedied this with the European launch of the Sony Rolly. This unusual piece of audio equipment is a speaker that can move certain parts in a choreographed performance to certain tracks. It has multi-coloured lights which flash as it, well rolls around and flaps extremities. It comes with certain memorised songs such as The Pretender by the Foo Fighters, which will show the Rolly at best.
At around 400 dollars you might be forgiven for thinking what an incredible waste of money, however it is a unique devise and after the initial launch the price might well drop considerably. Something audio with a bit more practical application a considerably lesser amount of flashing lights is the Plantronics Gamecom 777. This is fitted with 5.1 cinematic surround sound allowing the audio to exist in real proximity and gamers can pinpoint enemies via their audio movements.
There is a noise cancelling feature which is designed to lower frustrations when playing multi-player online games and the audio technology is Dolby Pro Logic II and digitally separates and amplifies multiple speakers to create a 360 degree audio effect. This sounds great on paper however it has just been launched and costs around 80GBP which as far as high spec gaming headphones go is not too bad. The IFA continues with most top electronic manufacturers represented so the audio news will continue.

The in-wall speakers are the latest addition in the world of entertainment. They can make the experience of listening to the music a really enchanting one. They have taken the sound technology a step ahead and are the favourites among the people looking forward to some great experience of entertainment. These speakers are not only advanced in the technological aspects, offering great sound quality, they also sport attractive appearances.
The speakers are characterized by the various shapes they come in. These are mostly made to fit the ambience. The main quality of the in-wall speakers is that they can be fitted to any place on the wall. They are usually placed in the wall or even on the ceiling to get the excellent sound effects. There are various ways of how to place it. This placement of the speaker is extremely necessary to get the required effects from them.
The in-wall speakers are mostly rectangular in shape. They vary in colour and also give the opportunity of being coloured according to the appearance of the room or the place where they are going to be placed. This chance of colouring them gives the opportunity to camouflage the speakers in the rooms.
The quality of output of the sounds of the speakers depends on the way the speakers are placed. Hence, special care has to be taken while choosing the place for the speakers. He way the speakers are to be placed differ for the 5-speaker sound systems, the 6-speaker sound systems and others. For the 5-speaker sound systems, the left and the right boxes are placed to the right and the left sides of the auditorium or the place where the listener would sit.
The 6-speaker sound system requires the back and front speakers to be place facing each other and at the same height and perpendicular to the right speaker and the left speaker of the sound system. There are the 7-speaker sound systems, which ensure excellent audio output once the additional speaker is placed towards the rear end of the auditorium.
The speakers in walls have become extremely popular among almost all the entertainment loving people across the globe. Due to their appearance, they can be easily camouflaged in the surroundings and hence, are often said to be the virtually invisible speakers. These in-wall speakers with surround sound represent the modern age advancement of technology and have become an integral part of new age entertainment.

The recording media for digital camcorders is one of the most important features that concern a camcorder consumer. There are several formats currently available, including, DVD, MiniDV, MicroMV, Flash Drive, Digital 8, VHS and Hard Disk.
There was a time when hard disk was referred to only in terms of computers. These days, hard disk also applies to digital camcorders, and has become one of the best recording formats for several reasons.
Hard Disk Drive digital camcorders are compact and record in MPEG-2 video that are saved to a built-in internal hard disk drive within the camcorder. The video is saved to the internal hard disc within the camcorder and then downloaded to a computer and burnt onto to a DVD.
The Super Qualities of the Hard Disk Camcorder
1. The biggest upside of this type of camcorder, versus other media formats, is the ability of storing huge amounts of video data by using compression. Models with a 30GB internal hard drive can record up to 7 hours of quality video or up to 37.5 hours of footage in extended recording mode. Models with a 20GB hard drive can record up to 5 hours of DVD-quality video or up to 25 hours of extended recording in economy mode. To put this into storage capacity, it would take 22 DVD type camcorder storage disks to hold 7 hours of video.
And, this is on going recording, without having to stop and replace the media, that is very convenient for recording extended footage, like plays, concerts or ballgames. Hard disk camcorders also provide quick random access to scenes for ease of operation.
2. Recording quality of most brands of hard disk camcorders is very high quality and yield a superb DVD quality video.
3. Fast transfer and saving of footage to a computer. Hard disk camcorders transfer recorded video from the camcorder to computer via USB cable and that enables a 10 minute transfer time for each 60 minutes of footage.
4. The hard disk camcorder has no moving parts and so there is less chance of mechanical breakdown.
5. Hard disk camcorders tend to be smaller and more compact than other media types of camcorders.
The first hard disk camcorders were introduced by JVC in 2005, and named the Everio series and there are currently 8 models in the JVC Everio hard disk series.
Today, there are several other manufacturers of these types of camcorders, including, Sony, who offers 9 different models of hard disk camcorders and Panasonic who offers 12 models.
The prices of hard disk camcorders vary, depending on the manufacturer, generally they range from $249 up to $1400 retail, with the ground breaker, JVC Everio series falling in the mid $400 range.

What Causes the Damage? The part of the electromagnetic spectrum used by cell phones and other wireless devices to communicate does not occur naturally on the earths surface — logically, it has to be, or there would be too much interference for cell phones to work.
In particular, the extremely low-frequency waves used to actually carry your voice or other data, known as Information Carrying Radio Waves, are not frequencies that you would ever encounter in a natural form on earth. Because of this, your body has not made any biological adaptation to protect you from electromagnetic radiation in these frequencies.
More importantly, the very rarity of these frequencies on the earths surface made them ideal ones for your body to use as an internal communication system, for the same reason that cell phones use them — a lack of interference. But now that man-made wireless communication is widespread, there is a great deal of interference.
Your cells have two types of receptors: chemical receptors and vibrational receptors. Chemical receptors respond to biochemical signals, but vibrational receptors are microscopic cilia, little hair-like sensors that respond to electromagnetic vibrations. When an Information carrying radio wave hits a ciliary vibrational receptor, the receptor resonate. Since this form of radiation does not occur naturally, your cells do not recognize it, and treat it as a potential threat. They respond by sealing themselves off, effectively shutting down their ability to communicate with other cells.
This reaction evolved as a short-term response to immediate danger; it was never designed to protect against the persistent signals of wireless communication. Soon, these sealed off cells start starving for lack of nutrients. Toxins, heavy metals, and free radicals build up inside of them, because the cell can no longer excrete them.
The intercellular communication breakdown can impair or destroy the function of whole tissue systems and organs. Soon, cells become damaged, and over the long term, this damage can have serious effects, especially in your complex and delicate brain — which, unfortunately, is right next to where most people hold their cell phones.
There are other dangers, as well. Information carrying Radio Waves piggyback on carrier waves, which operate at a much higher frequency. The effects of carrier waves are extremely subtle and hard to detect, but that does not make them any less dangerous.
The DNA in each of your cells contracts and extends like a coil several billion times per second, and these contractions create a timing system that regulates the activity of your metabolic enzymes. Carrier waves, however, operate on the exact same frequency as your DNA, and can cause interference that interrupts this fragile and crucial form of communication. The complex timing of your body’’s biological processes are being disrupted by your cell phone.
The effects of both the carrier waves and the information carrying radio waves can lead to serious, serious medical and health problems, up to and including degenerative brain disease and damaged, and potentially cancer-causing, DNA in your cells.

As fuel costs continue to rise, alternative sources of energy become more attractive to individuals and businesses. For those who are concerned about pollution or about the depletion of natural resources, renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power have presented themselves as possible alternatives to oil and coal.
Yet as increasing demand for clean, renewable energy drives a growing market for solar energy products, many people are left wondering what such systems cost and where those costs come from. Sunlight itself is free to everyone, yet the types of technology used to harness the power of sunlight can be costly. If you are interested in purchasing solar power products for your home or business, knowing what you will be paying for can help you make the best investment.
Two of the main types of products that take advantage of solar energy are passive and active solar products. These two types of systems differ in how they are constructed and can also differ greatly in cost. Passive solar technology can be used to heat air or water using the sun’’s energy. Unlike an active solar application, passive solar set-ups accomplish their task without the use of additional electrical components, such as fans that need an external electricity supply.
Some solar space heating or water heating systems are active solar heating systems that have various components that require external power sources. Because of their simplicity compared with active systems, passive solar heating systems generally have the lower cost of the two.
In addition to these solar heating systems, there are also solar power systems available. Rather than using the sun’’s energy for heating applications, these systems convert solar energy into electricity. These products are often constructed from hundreds of a type of solar energy collection cell called a photovoltaic cell. The name of this type of cell makes reference to the fact that the cell generates electricity from light. As sunlight falls on a photovoltaic cell, the light’’s energy is converted into electricity that can then be used to power many kinds of electronic devices.
Because of the complicated technology involved, these kinds of solar power systems can be very expensive. However, the cost savings may eventually more than pay off your initial investment in the solar cells.
When considering what kind of solar heating or power system to install in your home or business, be sure that you are purchasing your equipment from a reputable manufacturer or distributor who will be able to help you with any necessary repairs, periodic upgrades or additional conversion from traditional systems to a solar-powered system.
The best service will often be the most expensive, but you may be able to find grant funding to help offset the costs of equipment or installation. Many states offer grants for conversion to solar power, and doing some research into the grant programs for solar power systems in your area will help you get a sense of the how much financial assistance is available.

There are so many cell phone plans today that it’’s tough to keep track of what plans are good and which plans are not so good. Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint are all vying for your business and won”t rest until they”ve stolen you away from their competition, so there is no reason you shouldn”t get the best deal possible. Here are some tips to help you find the best wireless cell phone plans.
1. Be Prepared To Walk Away, And Do It
This one applies to anything you want to negotiate be it cell phone plans, cars, houses, you get the idea. Be prepared to walk away. Even if you like the phone, you think the plan is perfect and you really want it all today, don”t buy it, politely tell the sales person you want to think it over and walk out of the store. If the sales person is worth their salt, they will up their offer to get you to sign. If you are too eager to buy, they aren”t going to offer you anything.
2. Call Your Current Cell Phone Provider With Competitor’’s Deals
If you have a cell phone plan provider that you are happy with, but your contract is up, shop around for their competition’’s best plan and get them to beat or match it. Cell phone companies want to keep you as a customer, and are willing to negotiate but they can”t negotiate a good plan with you if you never ask. Most cell phone provider’’s websites have their top offers plastered all over their front page so researching plans shouldn”t take you very long.
When you call your cell phone provider ask for the Customer Retention Department. These are the people you really want to talk to, the low level support staff that you get initially probably doesn”t have the authority to negotiate. Don”t waste your time talking to someone who probably can”t help you. Just like in tip number one, tell them you”re willing to walk away to their competitor, even if you aren”t!
3. Shop Online Cell Phone Dealers
There are thousands of cell phone websites and most of them offer very deep discounts if you sign up for a contract through them. They can offer bigger discounts than the store in your local shopping mall because they don”t have brick and mortar stores to pay for and they don”t have sales staff (with salaries and benefits) trying to get you to buy. I have personally used Wirefly to purchase my last PDA cell phone and had a decent buying experience. I”ve known a few other people who purchased their phones from other online dealers and they”ve had good experiences as well.
4. Sign One-Year Contracts For Service
Cell phone companies love to lock you in to two (or more) year contracts that keep you locked in to their rates. To get you to sign up they waive the $30 registration fee, but if you negotiate you should be able to get them to waive the sign up fee anyway! If you are on a one-year contract, you become a “free agent” faster and can be choosier with your plans. If you sign up for a longer-term contract, you have no flexibility if a better plan comes along later.
5. Don”t Immediately Re-Sign Just Because Your Contract Is Up
When your current cell phone contract expires don”t be in a hurry to sign up for a new contract if you don”t think the current batch of deals is good. Cell phone companies work in cycles and offer better deals at certain times of the year like Christmas. When your contract expires, go month-to-month until a good deal comes along, or until you are able to negotiate your own great deal. Only the initial contract is required to have service.
